Esther Paniagua tells you what you can (and can't) expect from artificial intelligence

The first TalkX of this new edition of Santander X Explorer featured Esther Paniagua as the guest speaker. A journalist and author specialising in technology and cybersecurity, she’s also part of the Forbes Top 100 Most Creative People in Business... and much more. The introduction by Patricia Araque, Executive Director of Santander X Explorer and host of the talk, left no room for doubt: we were in the presence of one of the most special speakers to ever take part in the programme.

And so it was: right from the start, she captured the audience’s attention with her clear and simple explanation of what can (and can’t) be expected from artificial intelligence. Questions from the participants kept pouring in through the chat, covering controversial topics like the potential job destruction AI could cause, its ethical implications, its environmental consequences (yes, it also affects our environment)... The 45 minutes of TalkX weren’t enough, although some selected Explorers were able to continue the discussion with Esther in a private meeting. Everyone had doubts, everyone wanted to share their points of view. And for all of them, there were many, many open topics left for reflection.
