GreenBlock Energy brings together agriculture, energy, and technology to turn rural areas into engines of innovation, generating value, data, and profitability. We aim to promote a model of self-sufficient modular microplants that convert livestock and agri-industrial waste into renewable energy, certified biochar, and carbon credits.
Our first pilot plant, located in Teruel, addresses a real problem: the high environmental and economic impact of slurry and other organic waste. GreenBlock transforms this challenge into an opportunity for local, scalable, and replicable value creation.
“GreenBlock is practical technology serving local communities: it turns a problem into measurable economic and climate value.” — Iván, Founder
Biochar, one of the key products from our plants, is a solid material obtained through biomass pyrolysis. Its use in agriculture improves soil fertility and captures carbon in a stable form for centuries, making it a tool recognised by the EU to combat climate change. Each GreenBlock plant can prevent over 1,100 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year, generating a direct and measurable impact on decarbonisation.
“We come from the countryside and we think of the countryside: we want to simplify waste management and help producers benefit.” — David Martín, Rural Development
Our commitment aligns with SDGs 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry and Innovation), 12 (Responsible Production), 13 (Climate Action), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
With this campaign, we seek to accelerate the validation and deployment of the project. If you’re driven by circular economy, decarbonisation, and rural development, join GreenBlock and help us bring our first plant to life.
