By the end of December, with the second edition of Explorer in 2022, 15 projects were chosen to travel to the upcoming Explorer Trip, which will take place in Valencia in September 2023. However, the projects chosen in the first edition of this year were missing from this Cohort. Do you want to know who they are?

By the end of December, with the second edition of Explorer in 2022, 15 projects were chosen to travel to the upcoming Explorer Trip, which will take place in Valencia in September 2023. However, the projects chosen in the first edition of this year were missing from this Cohort. Do you want to know who they are?

We are all here; we can pack our bags and head to Valencia because… we already know which projects have been selected for the Explorer Trip! The jury, composed of Experts from the Explorer program, has “given their verdict” by evaluating and selecting one project from each country.

These 10 ideas that you are about to discover correspond to the first edition of the program in 2023, and they join the 15 projects that were selected from the second edition of 2022. All of them stand out not only for providing a solution to one of the SDGs 2030 but also for their originality, their evolution in Explorer, and, of course, the team behind them, among other factors. They are projects related to healthcare, education, or the environment. Here is the complete list!”

    1. Application of clinical cases for patients and professionals (Argentina, Fundación H.A. Barceló - School of Medicine). Applying the knowledge acquired at the medicine faculty to real-life clinical cases.
    2. Hemoapp (Brazil, Universidade Federal de São Paulo): Saving lives and still receiving rewards? With HemoApp, every time you donate blood, you accumulate points to redeem at partner companies.
    3. Durvill (Chile, Universidad Central de Chile). Biomaterial made from algae.
    4. Share + (Spain, University of Girona). Domino transplant optimization software to reduce waiting times.
    5. Millietext (United States, Florida International University). STEM textbook publisher  adapted to students: the online publishing platform is free to use.
    6. Artesanía Yuka + Ye (Mexico, Universidad de Guadalajara). Raising awareness of indigenous crafts, improving the quality of life of Mexico’s indigenous peoples, who are considered the most marginalized.
    7. Shared (Peru, University of San Martín de Porres) Sharing experiences and information with high school students who are undecided about their future career.
    8. IMA - Inventário de Materiais de Apoio (Portugal, Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa). Promoting the reuse and management of museology support materials.
    9. Mshahara (United Kingdom, University of Wolverhampton). Cloud-based payroll and benefits system for employees, helping companies automate these processes, as well as taxes and compliance with personnel regulations throughout Africa.
    10. Business and Human Solutions (Uruguay, Centro de Emprendimiento Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administración) Intervention in companies that request it to identify and manage problems, always from a humanistic approach.

The leaders of all these projects will spend a week in Valencia, delving into their idea, receiving mentorship, and practicing networking. This Cohort, formed by Explorers from 10 countries, will work daily at a significant European innovation hub in the Spanish city (although they will surely also find time to have fun, relax, and rest). Soon, you will see some of the selected participants on our social media channels. In the meantime, take a look at what the participants in the previous Trip, held in Porto, told us:
