MOVA - Healthy Ventilation launches its crowdfunding campaign to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning and deaths

MOVA - Healthy Ventilation (National Technological University, Argentina), one of the 20 ideas selected for support by Santander X Explorer, has launched its crowdfunding campaign.

What is this project about? MOVA monitors and manages indoor air quality. In enclosed spaces, it measures the presence of carbon monoxide (CO), a gas produced by faulty combustion from gas heating appliances, which can be lethal if it accumulates in the environment without proper ventilation. Through intelligent analysis and autonomously, the system generates appropriate ventilation to ensure a safe environment, free from poisoning.

The project is inspired by the following 2030 SDGs:

Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): healthy indoor ventilation ensures that people breathe clean air and live in environments that promote their well-being.

Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9): through home automation, smart spaces are created to improve daily life and contribute to sustainability.

Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11): MOVA's technological solutions aim to minimize environmental impact by promoting efficient resource use and reducing emissions.

"Modernizing a solution to a problem present in many homes and integrating it with home automation is a big step forward. This can motivate people to trust that they can truly be protected from carbon monoxide presence in their homes. Preventing just one case of poisoning or death is reason enough to keep working proudly on this project," explains Pablo Schlenker, a team member.

In this crowdfunding campaign, the project aims to finalize its MVP to launch it on the market. It is looking for beta testers, collaborators, and financial support.
