Relatidos launches its crowdfunding campaign to preserve historical memory of rural Spain

Relatidos (Universidad de Jaen, España), one of 20 ideas selected for support by Santander X Explorer, has now launched its crowdfunding campaign.
This project offers a tourism experience in areas affected by rural depopulation. Through a mobile app featuring audio guides narrated by local residents, visitors can explore and learn the stories of these villages. Additionally, they will have access to local information and become part of a community to connect with other travellers and residents in the different locations. Its main goal is to preserve historical memory and promote responsible tourism, creating communities and local cultural memories.
"Relatidos was born out of a love for our roots and the desire to keep the stories of our villages alive. We believe that each story is priceless, and we want to share them with the world, promoting tourism that not only visits but also understands and deeply connects with rural life," explains Ana Rodríguez, graphic designer and creator of Relatidos.
The goal of the crowdfunding campaign is to finance the development of the project and expand its implementation to more villages across Spain. They are seeking rural enthusiasts to join the cause, helping to preserve the oral memories of the "emptied Spain" and promote responsible tourism that revitalises these communities.
